INTRODUCTION

In today’s fast-paced work environment, the quality of communication often determines execution speed, management approvals, and relationships with stakeholders.
However, many day-to-day work issues stem from unclear writing, overly long messages, inappropriate tone, and presentations that are difficult to follow. This course is designed with a practical focus to strengthen participants’ ability to write concise and well-structured emails, reports, and proposals, as well as to build and deliver presentations with greater clarity and confidence.
The training is highly hands-on, incorporating rewrite labs, message-structuring exercises, slide storyline development, delivery practice, and simulations of real workplace situations.

Staff who frequently write emails, reports, or brief proposals
Individuals who are required to deliver presentations to internal or external parties, including meetings, briefings, and project presentations
COURSE OBJECTIVE
This course is designed to strengthen participants’ ability to communicate clearly and professionally in the workplace by equipping them with practical writing and presentation skills. Participants will be able to structure workplace messages in a clear and consistent manner, produce concise and action-oriented emails with appropriate tone, and organise short reports or proposals with logical flow and strong readability. The course also develops the capability to translate text and documents into clear presentation storylines and slide outlines efficiently, as well as to deliver short presentations with confidence and handle question-and-answer sessions in a professional and composed manner.


LEARNING OUTCOME
Produce clearer and more professional written communication including emails, short reports, and brief proposals using appropriate structure and tone.
Reduce communication back-and-forth through concise, precise, and action-oriented messages with clear requests and next steps.
Structure short reports and proposals using headings, bullet points, and simple tables to improve readability and clarity.
Develop clear presentation storylines and well-organised slide outlines that are easy for audiences to follow.
Deliver 3–5 minute presentations with confidence, clear transitions, and professional handling of Q&A sessions.
Produce a Communication and Presentation Pack comprising templates, checklists, and examples for immediate workplace application.
By the end of the course, participants will :
TRAINING METHODOLOGY
Face-to-face training with a strong hands-on focus.
Writing workshops including rewrite exercises and message structure development.
Guided presentation practice with coached delivery and immediate feedback.
Role play and simulations of real workplace situations such as sensitive emails, executive briefings, and Q&A sessions.
Templates, checklists, and examples that can be applied immediately after the training.
COURSE CONTENT
Module 1: Communication Clarity (Structure First, Style Second)
Objective: To enable participants to write clear, reader-focused messages by applying a simple and consistent structure while adjusting tone appropriately for different audiences and contexts.
Adopting a reader-first mindset and writing to be understood
Message structure: purpose → context → key points → action
Tone control: internal vs external, formal vs semi-formal
Common clarity issues and practical quick fixes
Module 2: Professional Email Writing (Fast and Action-Oriented)
Objective: To strengthen participants’ ability to produce concise, professional emails that drive action, reduce back-and-forth communication, and handle sensitive situations appropriately.
Email structure: subject, opening, key points, action, closing
Writing concisely to minimise unnecessary follow-ups
Managing sensitive emails with professionalism
Hands-on exercise: transforming weak emails into professional emails (before and after)
Module 3: Writing Short Reports and Proposals (Logic and Flow)
Objective: To equip participants with the skills to organise short reports and proposals using clear logic, strong recommendations, and readable formats that support decision-making.
Writing strong summaries and recommendations
Structure: issue → analysis → recommendation → next steps
Readability tools: headings, bullet points, simple tables
Hands-on exercise: building a report or proposal outline from a case scenario
Module 4: Presentation Storyline and Slide Flow (Easy to Follow)
Objective: To help participants design clear presentation storylines and slide structures that communicate key messages effectively and are easy for audiences to follow.
Presentation flow: opening, storyline, key points, closing
Slide principles: one idea per slide, simple visuals, clear structure
Converting text or documents into slide outlines
Hands-on exercise: building a presentation storyline and slide outline
Module 5: Presentation Delivery Fundamentals (Confidence and Q&A)
Objective: To develop participants’ confidence and effectiveness in delivering short presentations and managing question-and-answer sessions in a professional manner.
Speaking structure: opening, transitions, summary
Voice control, pacing, clarity, and managing nervousness
Handling questions professionally
Role play: short presentation delivery with feedback
